We are seeking new directors to join our board of Crownsavers and help thousands of workers within SE London with their financial health



We are looking for intelligent, experienced and forward thinking individuals who can help us help more workers within South East London with their financial health. 

What will you be doing?

You will be required to attend board meeting at least once per month to help us with our strategy to grow the credit union by forging more local partnerships, assisting with our financial obligations as well as assisting in creating strategic decisions that will create a credit union that is innovative and truly serves our membership well.

About Crownsavers Credit Union

We have been serving the local working community with banking services for the last 22 years. We have lent millions to thousands of workers, assisting them to become financially capable as well as combating reliance upon payday lenders (and other high interest lenders). Our accessible savings products assists and encourages our members to save easily. 

Credit unions are not for profit financial cooperatives offering savings and loans to their local community. Crownsavers serves the working community of those working, volunteering, studying or are self employed within a SE London postcode - therefore covering the London Boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth. 


What are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals with at least 3 years experience within one of the following industries:

  • Banking
  • Accounting and finance 
  • Credit unions
  • Compliance 
  • Marketing


You will have a passion to help those with their financial health and community banking. 

Skills Required (Generally)

  • Good financial literacy
  • Good business acumen
  • Innovative and creative
  • Strategic
  • Motivated to make significant changes within communities
  • Hands on in planning and implementing projects


You must work or be self employed within a SE postcode (i.e. SE1 etc). Applications that do not meet this minimum criteria will not be considered.

What difference will you make?

Financial stress is one of the biggest personal and professional issues that people face, effecting motivation, productivity, creativity and general health (both mentally and physically). By offering banking services designed for, operated on behalf of our members means that we help thousands (almost 3000 members) to save more and have access to credit that they can actually afford. We work with large local employers to help employees save directly from their salaries to assist in building habits of savings.

You will be helping us to reach many more workers and help create a working community that is financially healthy, capable and financially literate; thereby increasing the general financial wellbeing.

Your decisions will help us build our organisation to help more workers with their financial health.
